I don't have time!

If you had a bank account with $86 400 deposited into it every morning but whatever you don't spend disappears at midnight, what would you do with it? Most people would spend it, invest it and wouldn't waste it. You already have that account, it's time. Everyday you have 86 400 seconds. You can’t save them, borrow more, or get them back once they’re gone. The question is: where are you spending your Time? The difference between people who consistently improve and people who stay stuck is rarely talent. It is almost always how they use their time. Every day, school, work, training, family, friends, recovery, and screens all compete for our attention. If we don't prioritise what is important, our time gets decided for us. And what usually wins? Whatever is easiest or most entertaining in the moment. Successful people do not simply find time. They schedule priorities. There is a big difference. The Priority Framework One of the most powerful tools in any high performer's toolkit is this simple four-box framework. Not everything on your to-do list deserves the same energy and this makes that clear. |

5 Practical Black Belt Tips 1. Decide your non-negotiables for each day and each week - The things that are urgent and important. Schedule these two or three things first and build everything else around it in your week or day 2. Prepare before you need to - lay things out, pack your bag, set a reminder. The more friction between you and starting or doing something the easier it is to skip. Remove the friction 3. Know where your time goes - Most people underestimate how much time disappears into the bottom-right box. Track one day honestly this week and see what you find - how high is your screen time? 4. Show up especially when you're busy - The busiest weeks are when discipline matters most. Keeping commitments under pressure is exactly what builds the resilience muscle. Your positive priorities e.g. training will keep you more productive and more balanced even when you are busy 5. Use the Priority Framework above this week and organise the things on your to do list into the categories Black Belt Mindset Takeaway You cannot manage time - there is always the same amount of it. What you can manage is your decisions? Every day is a fresh set of 86400 seconds. The people who improve consistently are not the ones with more hours they are the ones who decide in advance what those hours are for. For example something you value like Karate does not fit in around your life everything else fits around Karate. For the students who reach their goals it is part of the structure their life is built around. Schedule what's important and urgent. Protect it. Show up and see how much much more productive you are and how much faster you achieve your goals. Be Awesome ![]() |
